Our original book group hosted by Heather has proved to be so popular that we are now running a second book group.
Heather’s book group will remain at her house every 3rd Wednesday of the month. Members of the book group take it in turns to pick a book that they have either enjoyed themselves and want to share with the group or that they would like to read. The books are varied with some people opting for old favourites or classics and other people choosing more modern humorous books. Once read, the books are discussed and rated 0-10. It is always a very sociable evening with wine and nibbles. There have also been some visits to the Goods Shed to listen to literary speakers which is also very enjoyable.
The second book group will be co-ordinated by Claire and will meet at Charlie’s Cafe and Wine bar on the last Wednesday of every month at 7:00pm.
Some of the titles the book group have enjoyed recently are:
- Enchanted April by Elizabeth Von Armin
- You Are Here by David Nicholls
- Winter Garden by Kristen Hannah
- Just One Damned Thing After Another by Jodi Taylor
- The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek by Kim Michele Richardson
- A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki
- Ancestry by Simon Mawer
- There are Rivers in the Sky by Elif Shafak
- The Other Bennet Sister by Janice Hadlow
- American Dirt by Jeanine Cummings
- The Good Daughter by Sarah Edghill
Please see Heather or Claire for more details about these very popular groups.
