Our Garden Group is co-ordinated by Moira. A visit to a garden or a related activity is organised every month. Usually everyone meets up to share lifts. Please speak to Moira if you would like to join in or contact her by email garden@tetbury-wi.org.uk.

The Garden Group enjoyed a day at Batsford Arboretum with its amazing display of daffodils and even a little sunshine.

The Garden Group’s first outing of the year was to Cerney House, primarily to see the snowdrops but the hellebores were beautiful too.

Once again, Moira hosted her popular Christmas wreath making workshop and with Judith’s guidance the Garden Group produced some very professional looking results. The doors around Tetbury will be looking very smart!

Unfortunately the Garden Group’s planned visit to Westbury Court Gardens was not to be! They arrived to find it unexpectedly closed due to staff shortages; but ever resourceful the ladies changed the plan to lunch at Trioscapes Garden Centre instead and still had a lovely day out.

The Garden Group enjoyed an amazing visit to Highgrove. The weather was sunny, our guide was excellent and extremely knowledgeable and the lunch of sandwiches and cream teas was delicious. What more could you want!

It was a hot day but the Garden Group donned their big hats and went to see the beautiful collection of rambling roses at Moor Wood Farm near Cirencester. Of course after a viewing in the heat, there had to be refreshments!

Our Garden Group took the opportunity to visit Badminton House on one of its open days to see their roses and although dogs weren’t allowed they did manage to find one!

The Garden Group found that the bluebells were almost over at Westonbirt, but the rhododendrons made a spectacular display.

There was a slight change of plan when the Garden Group visited Westonbirt Arboretum a little earlier than originally planned to see the bluebells. The earlier visit was necessary as the lovely weather meant the bluebells were in bloom earlier than expected. There were lots of other lovely early blooms out too.

Our Garden Group visit to Cerney House Gardens was blessed with beautiful sunshine – great for viewing but also for tea outside. The tulips were particularly splendid.

The Garden Group went to Dymock Woods to see the wild daffodils, although Gwen and Vera’s field just a little up the road had the best display. We were lucky to also see wild anemones and primroses – a lovely spring display. Of course a Garden Group trip had to include a coffee and lunch stop which was a Trioscape Garden Centre.

The first trip to a garden this year proved to be a very wet one, but some of the Garden Group braved the weather to see the snowdrops at Painswick Rococo Gardens.
