Linda coordinates the Craft Group who meet at her house every other Thursday. They do anything that can be called ‘craft’ and there are no limits to what can be achieved or tried. Contact Linda if you are interested in joining the group for crafting, laughter and of course some tea and cake!
Just some of the fabulous craft items created. What talented ladies.

The Craft Group made beautiful cards and pictures using sea glass. It was surprising how long it took to sort through to find just the right shaped piece but the results were worth it!

It was fascinating to use the Felting Machine to create felt from wool and then to make the felt into very pretty brooches.

Our Craft Group re-visited Japanese Sashiko embroidery to make beautiful pictures.

This craft session we learnt how to make some lovely present toppers to be used on our presents as we enter the festive season. Some designs were challenging but we all we home with Christmas trees, bows, leaves and angels and the determination to make beautifully wrapped presents this year!

Here are some of our Blackwork Keyrings. We enjoyed learning this very old embroidery technique which came to the UK in Tudor times and was originally used to decorate collars and cuffs.

Beautiful pewter heart-shaped pendants were made at craft – for someone you love or just for yourself!

A relaxing afternoon colouring letters in the Book of Kells style. These letters were created around 800AD by Celtic monks. Identifying the letters is a little tricky – top row left to right is ‘P’, ‘M’ and ‘K’ and bottom row left to right is ‘J’, ‘L’ and ‘A’!!

This session we enjoyed doing parchment craft – it was another chance to do this craft for some and new to others, but everyone produced some lovely cards. Some people even took the opportunity to get a ‘jump start’ on Christmas cards.

The latest craft the Craft Group have mastered is copper and silver work leaves and birds which were made into very beautiful home decorations.

The Craft Group decided to re-visit a very popular craft – Iris Folding. They made some amazing cards – both hexagonal and triangular and went home with instructions to try our some more shapes.

This craft session we tried our hand at weaving on a loom, making unique wall-hangings.

The Craft Group made Yorkshire buttons, which are said to be a poor man’s version of a Dorset button, as no brass ring is used in the Yorkshire version!

Our Easter craft session saw the ladies making very cute bunnies in carrots.

The Craft Group made crochet baskets. For some of us it was our first go at crochet and it took us a while to get the hang of it, but we all got there in the end and produced some fantastic baskets.

At craft our ladies made some beautiful and cleverly designed wire flowers.

This craft session saw our ladies practising macrame knots in preparation for a larger piece of work. They learnt how to make macrame feathers which they made into key rings. They also practised larks head knots, twisted knots, square knots and a travelling clove hitch!

The craft ladies made beautiful Fimo clay buttons.
